This week, the Secretary of State for MHCLG, James Brokenshire, made a statement to Parliament updating Members on progress made since the Grenfell Tower fire. Of particular note was reference to the initiative to improve competence across the construction industry, which is being lead by the Construction Industry Council, and Tenos are pleased to be representing the fire engineering industry on a number of the Working Groups. Mr Brokenshire also announced the setting up of the Industry Safety Steering Group to be Chaired by Dame Judith Hackitt, whose continued involvement should help to ensure that the recommendations made in her report can be fully developed and implemented. Tenos fully support these initiatives and are committed to driving up standards so that we can achieve our vision of ensuring that people can sleep, live and work safe from the effects of fire. At Tenos we will continue our involvement in leading the fire engineering industry in designing buildings for a safer future.
