Principal Engineer
Role overview
As a Principal Engineer you will be managing a wide variety of fire engineering projects in the UK and abroad, where you will be expected to manage quality, time and financial outputs. Key items on your agenda will include building new and existing client relationships, reviewing technical documents along with managing the work of, and developing less experienced engineers.
Reporting to:
- Associate Director or above
Responsible for:
- Self, Mentee and Team Management
Mentored by:
Liaises with:
- External: Clients and client design team, enforcing authorities
- Internal: People and Planning Manager, directors, managers and technical colleagues
Essential Skills and Experience
- Professional registration with Engineering Council through the IFE (or with another Professional Engineering Institution) as a Chartered Engineer
- Has broad and varied experience of working within Fire Safety
- Ability to manage key client relationships
Key Responsibilities
- Full project cycle management of own projects and larger cross-team projects
- Financial management of projects
- Engineer Plus and Senior Engineer mentor
- Review Technical documents prepared by others
- CPD
- Carry out workshops on FE projects
- Manage time responsibly
- Adapt and be flexible to the needs of the business
- Ensure your own well-being
- Comply with the IFEs Code of Professional Conduct
- Work within Tenos quality control standards and procedures
