Associate Director


Role overview

As an Associate Director your established experience in both fire engineering and team leadership will ensure successful management of larger projects and a team of Engineers. Your expertise and credibility will feed into the strategic direction of Tenos.

Reporting to:

Responsible for:

  • Self, Mentee and Team Management

Mentored by:

  • Director

Liaises with:

  • External: Clients and client design team, enforcing authorities
  • Internal: People and Planning Manager, directors, managers and technical colleagues

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Professional registration with Engineering Council through the IFE (or with another Professional Engineering Institution) as a Chartered Engineer
  • Completed and passed Expert Witness qualification
  • Recognised as a credible fire expert within the industry
  • Able to forge new client relationships
  • Able to manage and lead a team of Engineers

Key Responsibilities

  • Team performance management
  • Keep self and team up to date with industry findings, emerging regulation
  • Participates in the strategic development of the Tenos through internal leadership activities and external business development
  • Attract new clients to Tenos
  • CPD
  • Manage time responsibly
  • Adapt and be flexible to the needs of the business
  • Ensure your own well-being
  • Comply with the IFEs Code of Professional Conduct
  • Work within Tenos quality control standards and procedures
