Alec is a Chartered Engineer, registered through the Institution of Fire Engineers, and a member of the Institution of Fire Engineers (MIFireE).  He is also a holder of an Expert Witness Certificate following successful completion of the training and assessment course provided by Cardiff University Bond Solon (CUBS).

Alec has over 20 years’ experience in fire safety engineering consultancy, since graduating from the University of Leeds with a BSc(Hons) Degree in Fire Science. He has led the fire engineering design on projects across all sectors and sizes and has extensive experience of prestigious residential, educational, transport, sport, and commercial developments. He has developed fire and life safety strategies for projects within the UK and internationally, utilising both UK guidance and standards and international design codes (NFPA, IBC, QCDD Standards, Saudi Building Code), alongside computational fluid dynamics fire and smoke modelling and evacuation modelling, to provide pragmatic design solutions that meet the aspirations of the design team without compromising fire safety.
