Role overview

As a Tenos Engineer you be involved in a wide variety of fire engineering projects and have the opportunity to build your project and people management skillset and develop specialisms in line with your interests.

You will be working with Chartered Engineers to generate and evaluate innovative fire solution strategies for prominent clients. You will manage project-delivery, liaise with clients and enforcing authorities and prepare tenders for fire consultancy. You will have the opportunity to mentor less experienced engineers to help them develop their skills and knowledge as well as focusing on developing your own to achieve chartered engineer status.

Reporting to:

  • Principle Engineer or above

Responsible for:

  • Self and Mentee

Mentored by:

  • Senior Engineer or above

Liaises with:

  • External: Clients and client design team, enforcing authorities
  • Internal: People and Planning Manager, directors, managers and technical colleagues

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the fire safety engineering field or relevant engineering discipline (such as building services or structural engineering)
  • Mentoring experience
  • Project and/or line management experience

  • Full project cycle management of own projects with technical document support from Principal Engineer/Director
  • Writing fee proposals

  • Undertakes shadow reviews of graduate and engineer technical documents
