The National Health Service Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) is a Special Health Authority within the NHS that operates from a portfolio of ninety fixed locations across the UK.
Managing a varied and diverse estate requires a practical, wide ranging approach to the delivery of fire safety management. Tenos was appointed in 2002 to provide fire safety advice, risk assessments and consultancy support across the entire NHSBT estate.
Tenos introduced a nationwide Fire Safety Management Plan that ensured NHSBT were able to operate a national standard at local level. The introduction of Tenos Benchmark in order to track and manage fire risk assessment actions has proved to be a significant improvement for monitoring fire safety across the portfolio.
In addition, Tenos review building change programmes for alterations, refurbishment and extensions to existing buildings, providing technical advice on replacement and/or upgrades for fire detection, fixed fire-fighting and emergency escape lighting systems.
